Thailand Post unveils self-service kiosks in rural areas
It will also launch its withdrawal services by Q2.
Thailand Post is eyeing to expand its financial service offerings through electronic know-your-customers (e-KYC) and self-service kiosks in rural areas with no bank branches, reports the Bangkok Post.
The postal service provider has been working to add banking agent services for deposits with 10 bank partners. It is also in talks to partner with Bangkok Bank.
“We have seen a rise in demand for bank services at our 1,200 branches nationwide, serving consumers who may not be able to go to bank branches or whose branches closed because of digital disruption," Smorn Terdthumpiboon, president of Thailand Post, said.
By Q2, Thailand Post will also kick off its withdrawal services to allow bank users to use their national ID cards and mobile bank applications to withdraw money at post offices.
