HSBC has new personalized touchscreen ATMs
New touchscreen ATMs with personalisation functions were introduced in seven HSBC sites across Hong Kong. Taking the lead in personal financial services, the ATMs offer new functions including a simplified screen flow process, personalised settings, a bill payment barcode reader and full colour screens.
The new ATMs provide customers with a simplified screen flow process offering a faster, more efficient service. The new system reduces the number of screen pages required for the most popular services, including balance enquiries, cash withdrawals, transfers and bill payments. In the case of bill payment, the number of screens required has been streamlined from eight to three.
"We are focusing on improving ATM transaction speeds and streamlining processes to suit our customers' needs. The new touchscreen ATMs will bring a personalised, more efficient, technologically-advanced automated service to our customers," said Ada Chiu, Head of Direct Channels Personal Financial Services Hong Kong.
A first-in-market barcode reader has been installed in a number of the touchscreen ATMs which significantly speeds up the transactions for bill payments. Rather than selecting the merchant type and name, as well as having to input the bill number and bill type, customers can now simply hold the bill's barcode under the scanner and all relevant information are captured.
