Maybank pushes Philippine expansion
Plans to open 25 branches this year and 25 in 2014.
The goal of the aggressive branch expansion by Maybank Philippines, Inc. is to have 200 branches throughout the Philippines.
Maybank President and CEO Herminio Famatigan said the bank wants to expand its reach to as many customers as possible to cover new grounds. He noted that it’s a good time to be in the Philippines right now.
“We are committed to be relevant as possible to the market we serve, be there where you need us and accessible to as many customers as possible,” he added.
Encouraged by the country’s economics of good governance and the series of upgrades from credit-rating bodies, Maybank economic managers expressed confidence that the country is the best performing economy in Asia.
Maybank Philippines belongs to the Maybank Group, the largest Malaysian banking group. With assets of more than US$100 billion, Maybank Group is the fourth largest bank in Asia and among the top financial institutions in the world.
