Bangkok Bank to offer hospital card
Bangkok Bank and Ramathibodi Hospital will join forces to offer the “Rama Smart Card” to Ramathibodi Hospital staff and patients.
In addition to the great spending and security benefits of Be1st Smart, the cards will also act as a staff or patient identification card. The card will use the latest technology to connect with medical and payment systems in the hospital, bringing greater convenience to card holders.
Bangkok Bank President Chartsiri Sophonpanich said the bank is creating the Rama Smart Card with Ramathibodi Hospital, one of Thailand’s most respected government hospitals, to bring greater convenience to hospital staff and patients. The card will use the latest in security and payment technology as it is equipped with an electronic chip which bundles various functions in one.
Professor Rachata Rachatanawin, MD, Dean of Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, said the co-operation between Bangkok Bank and Ramathibodi Hospital resulted from an innovation where financial technology was linked with medical and health systems. The initiative dovetails with commitments by Bangkok Bank and the Bank of Thailand’s to create a wider non-cash community, with technology bringing financial and administrative convenience for staff and patients. The innovation could also serve as a role model for other government units.
