BNI hopes Chelsea's Indonesian visit will boost card sales
Bank Negara Indonesia hopes to capitalize on Chelsea Football Club's upcoming visit to Indonesia.
It intends increased its target issue of co-branded cards with the London-based football club by April from 25,000 to 100,000.
“The target is more aggressive because of Chelsea's upcoming visit to Indonesia,” said Darmadi Sutanto, BNI's consumer and retail director.
He added that the company had already issued 60,000 Chelsea-branded cards, which include debit, pre-paid and credit cards, since they launched the card last August.
Chelsea will visit Indonesia for the first time in July as part of the final leg of their pre-season tour of Asia. The European champions will face Indonesia XI at Jakarta's 88,000-seat Gelora Bung Karno Stadium on July 25, following matches in Thailand and Malaysia.
