OCBC Malaysia to allow payment card personalisation via mobile app
It has tapped on fintech firm Ondot.
OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad has announced its collaboration with Silicon Valley-headquartered fintech firm Ondot to enable its cardholders to control and customise payment cards through a mobile app.
Ondot serves over 4,000 financial institutions across four continents through its API-based platform that allows users to manage how payments are being done.
OCBC Malaysia’s partnership with Ondot is driven by The Open Vault, the FinTech and Innovation unit of the OCBC Group, which is responsible for redefining banking through co-innovation with innovative FinTech firms.
"In this age of the Digital Banking, OCBC is leading the charge in partnering FinTechs to accelerate the customer-first approach. Together with our partners, we are making it easier, safer, and more enjoyable for consumers in Malaysia to use their credit and debit cards wherever they are in the world," Fabian Lim, head of The Open Vault at OCBC Bank Malaysia said in a statement.
“In a market like Malaysia, card products that allow cardholders to shop freely and safely whether in-store or online, increase their confidence and help us all move one step closer to a cashless society," Rachna Ahlawat, executive vice president of Ondot added.
