Citi meets wealth needs with launch of exclusive debit card
The card’s daily spending limit can be as high as HK$300,000.
Citi has launched the exclusive Citigold Private Client World Elite Debit Mastercard, the first of its kind in Hong Kong's market, targeting the needs of high-net-worth customers.
The card offers unparalleled privileges, global payment convenience, and enhanced benefits for travel and lifestyle.
A recent Citi survey targeting high-net-worth individuals in Hong Kong revealed a significant increase in debit card usage over the past five years, with a 90% rise in overall usage.
The survey highlighted a strong preference for using debit cards for overseas spending (over 70%) and children's living expenses abroad (over 90%).
Respondents valued travel-related benefits such as airport lounge access, comprehensive travel coverage, and competitive exchange rates.
The daily spending limit can be set as high as US$38,370 (HK$300,000), the highest in Hong Kong, with flexibility for customers to adjust the limit.
Privileges include 24/7 global travel and lifestyle concierge services, Mastercard Travel Pass for access to over 1,300 airport lounges globally, complimentary golf rounds, and exclusive offers on hotel accommodation and car rentals. Cardholders also benefit from up to US$500,000 (HK$4m) of travel insurance coverage and access to the Hong Kong Jockey Club Citibank VIP box.
As part of Citi's commitment to sustainability, the bank has partnered with Mastercard Priceless Planet Coalition to restore a tree for every HKD 5,000 spent on the card, aiming to restore at least 12,000 trees over two years.
