Standard Chartered has appointed David Rego as its global head of payments, transaction banking, effective immediately.
Rego is currently the global head of liquidity, deposits, and escrow solutions, with his successor to be announced at a later date.
In his new role, he is expected to drive the transformation of Standard Chartered’s payments business and lead the creation of solutions to meet the evolving needs of the bank’s clients. He will continue to be based in Singapore.
Rego reports to Philip Panaino, global head of cash, transaction banking.
He has over 25 years of experience in cash and liquidity management across product, technology, and operations. He first joined Standard Chartered in 2007. Prior to his current role, he had also held the role of global head of Cash Product Development and Regional Cash Product Head for Africa.
