Maybank targets double-digit growth for prepaid cards
Maybank expects to issue 10,000 prepaid cards within the next 12 months as it targets double-digit growth in the sector within three to four years.
"Pre-paid card is a new segment we embarked on last month via the Maybankard Manchester United Prepaid Card and which we now intend to tap into a new growth area," said Deputy President and Head of Community Financial Services Lim Hong Tat.
Maybank also joined forces with Limkokwing University of Creative Technology and MasterCard Worldwide to introduce Asean's first ever Mastercard Prepaid University Smart Card for LUCT employees and students.
Lim said with the introduction of the card, Maybank can further entrench its leadership in the cards market.
