MUFG closes $404m green loans to build two data centres in Jakarta
This is MUFG’s second project financed greenfield data centre transaction in APAC in 2023.
MUFG Bank has closed $404m sustainability-linked loan facilities (SLL) for the development of two data centres in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The data centres are being developed by PT Graha Teknologi Nusantara, a wholly-owned subsidiary of EdgeConneX.

The transaction is MUFG’s second project financed greenfield data centre transaction in APAC in 2023, and marks the first-ever SLL facilities for data centres in Indonesia. The loans uses a key performance indicator (KPI) framework that comply with SLL principles published by the Loan Market Association (LMA).
MUFG served as one of four mandated lead arrangers (MLAs), as well as the account bank, facility agent, security agent, and hedging bank for the transaction.
