Philippines’ Metrobank ties-up with 46 Japanese banks
Will help Japanese expand Philippine operations.
Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company said the 46 Japanese regional banks are located from Hokkaido in northern Japan and to Okinawa in the south. It said the partnerships aim to support principally Japanese small and medium enterprises’ new investments in the Philippines.
The recently concluded Japan Bank for International Cooperation road show in Japan initiated a series of cooperation agreements with the Japanese regional banks (JRBs). In the JBIC program, Metrobank will serve as the Philippine counterpart of the JRBs to serve Japanese SME clients and their local operations or expansion plans.
