Security Bank added 72 branches in 2012
Its now has 208 branches in the Philippines.
With the additions, Security Bank Corporation, one of the Philippines’ 20 largest commercial banks, brought its total branches in its nationwide network to 208. Of this total, 170 were for SBC and 38 for its subsidiary, Security Bank Savings.
SBC also ended 2012 with 279 automated teller machines installed in strategic locations nationwide.
SBC also reported a loan growth of 24% as it focused on its corporate and small-medium enterprise customers. The loans went to the infrastructure, energy, retail, real estate and mining sectors.
Alberto SBC president Villarosa projected last year’s loan growth at 15% to 18%. He also sees healthy loan growth for the banking industry this year.
During the third quarter, SBC generated a net income of US$152 million or an increase of 55% year-on-year. It earned US$165 million in 2011 with an ROE of 25%.
