Borromeo appointed Plantersbank President
Veteran banker leads Philippines’ largest lender to small and medium enterprises.
Planters Development Bank (Plantersbank) announced the appointment of Carlos Borromeo as President and COO retroactive to January 1.
“We believe in Carlos Borromeo’s leadership capabilities, which are consistent with our mission and vision to develop and enable entrepreneurs in the country,” said Plantersbank chairman and CEO Jesus Tambunting.
Borromeo is a banking professional with over 22 years of banking experience in both front-line and support functions. He is expected to renew the bank’s commitment to small and medium enterprises by continuing to offer services tailor-fit for entrepreneurs.
Borromeo, 46, first joined the bank in January 2012 as executive vice president and chief financial officer. He graduated from college with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, and also holds a Masters in Business Management from the Asian Institute of Management.
Borromeo said he is honored and delighted to be able to lead Plantersbank, the country’s lead bank for SMEs, to greater heights this year even. He looks forward to working with the company’s dedicated employees to bring innovative products and personalized services to clients all over the country.
