Madan is new country chief for RBS Thailand
An ex-BAY executive is the new RBS country executive and head of international banking for Thailand.
The appointment of Charly Madan became effective on December 1.
Madan has overall management responsibility for RBS's markets and international banking businesses in Thailand, which includes debt financing, markets, transaction services and risk management.
As country executive, he will also ensure compliance with regulatory requirements as well as the bank's own risk policies and procedures.
Madan has more than 25 years of banking experience in the Asia-Pacific region.
He joins RBS from Bank of Ayudhya, Thailand's fifth-largest bank, where he was head of corporate banking and chairman of Krungsri Factoring. He was also on the board of directors for Krungsri Securities.
Before Krungsri, Madan was the country officer for Citibank Vietnam for five years and worked in Citibank Thailand as head of the global relationship banking and financial services group for nine years. He was also with Standard Chartered Bank Thailand for five years.
