Meet Standard Chartered's new Global Treasury Solutions team
Standard Chartered announced that it has established a Global Treasury Solutions team for its Transaction Banking Business. The newly formed team is responsible for providing best practice treasury advice and delivering sophisticated global and regional cash management solutions tailored to clients’ needs.
Leveraging the bank’s strong footprint in emerging markets across Asia, Africa and the Middle East, the team will be working with clients to implement leading-edge treasury practices, supporting the growth of their businesses domestically and internationally.
Effective immediately, Victor Penna has been appointed as Head of Treasury Solutions, Transaction Banking. Based in Singapore, Victor will report to Jiten Arora, Global Head of Sales, Transaction Banking.
Commenting on the establishment of the new team and Victor’s appointment, Jiten said,

With a wealth of experience in transaction banking and a strong track record in leading sales, product and consulting teams, Victor is well suited to head the new team. He and his team will be instrumental in delivering best practice solutions to support our clients’ success.”
Victor has over 25 years of banking, finance and consulting experience, most recently as Managing Director and Regional Head of J.P. Morgan’s treasury solutions team in Asia Pacific. Throughout his career he has worked closely with many Fortune 500 companies to deliver optimised treasury and cash management solutions and successfully supported clients to develop their treasury centres, shared service centres, centralised trading centres and in-house banking operations.
Victor will be leading a team of highly experienced ex-treasurers and senior banking executives:
Philippe Tian, Treasury Solutions Adviser, covering China and Taiwan – based in Shanghai. Philippe has over 17 years of Corporate Treasury and Treasury Consulting experience with deep expertise in China covering cash management, treasury operations and risk and liquidity management. Prior to joining the Bank, Philippe was Treasury Director for GE China and a senior manager within PWC’s treasury consulting unit.
Brian Leung, Treasury Solutions Adviser, covering Hong Kong, Korea and Japan – based in Hong Kong. Brian has extensive treasury experience from best-in-class multinationals where he was instrumental in the structuring and set-up of their Treasury operations covering domestic and international operations across a broad geographic reach. Prior to joining the Bank, Brian served as Group Treasurer for Haier and Regional Treasurer for Lucent.
Byron Gardiner, Treasury Solutions Adviser, covering South East Asia – based in Singapore. Byron has over 20 years experience in Corporate Treasury and Banking including senior Treasury roles with Huawei, Symantec and Oracle. He has extensive experience in setting up both Treasury Centres and Shared Service Centres for major international corporates.
Olle Malmgren, Treasury Solutions Adviser, covering Middle East & Africa – Based in Dubai. Olle has over 25 years of experience in Corporate Treasury and Banking including a role as Treasury Manager for Whirlpool covering Europe, Asia and Africa and as a Director of Sales in Europe with Wall Street Systems. He has extensive experience in structuring Corporate Treasury solutions for major international corporates.
